JH baseballers finish season with victories

The Perkins-Tryon Junior High Demons concluded their season with a pair of solid wins. P-T thumped Hennessey here last Monday by a 3-1 verdict. The Demons rolled past Bethel last Saturday at McLoud.

Against Hennessey, the Demons controlled the game from the beginning. A 2-0 lead was reached after the first inning as Brandon Martin reached on a walk and later scored on a single from Reed Aldridge. The second run resulted when Chad Black scored on a Scott Howard base hit. Black reached earlier on a single.

P-T's final run came in the bottom of the third inning when Aldridge stole home for a 3-0 advantage.

Hennessey's lone run came in the top of the fifth inning.

The Demons were limited to only four hits but also got help from a couple of Hennessey errors. Autry Westfall went 2-for-4 to lead the Demons at the plate.

Aldridge was the winning pitcher in going the distance. He gave up the single run on five hits and walked two. Aldridge also notched eight strikeouts.

Against Bethel, the Demons used an eight-run second inning enroute to the 8-2 win at McLoud.

P-T scored it's runs on 10 hits including doubles from Aldridge to lead off the inning and Martin later B2on in the rally. Aldridge also added a single with a second time at the plate in the inning. Caleb Tuley also had two singles during the inning that accounted for two runs batted in.

Tuley was also the winning pitcher in 3.2 innings of work. He did not allow any runs or hits after Bethel scored two in the top of the first inning. Tuley give up three walks but struck out five.

Damon Walkup also clubbed a pair of singles as part of the 11-hit P-T offensive attack.
