On Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, Church Women United of Stillwater will celebrate World Community Day at St. John's Catholic Church, 201 N. Knoblock, at 1:30 p.m. St. John's will also present the program.
Our speaker will be Fr. Stuart Crevcoure. After completing a B.A. in History at the University of Tulsa in 1995, Fr. Stuart began studies for the priesthood for the Diocese of Tulsa. He completed a M.A. in Systematic Theology and a Pontifical Bachelor's in Sacred Theology at St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, PA.
He was ordained by Bishop Edward J. Slattery at Holy Family Cathedral in Tulsa on May 25, 2001. In his ministry he has served at Bishop Kelly High School, St. Philip Neri Newman Center at Tulsa University, the Church of the Madalene in Tulsa, and the Sacred Heart Church in Sapulpa. Since 2007, he has been the pastor of St. John the Evangelist University Parish and Catholic Student Center at O.S.U. in Stillwater.
The presentation by Fr. Stuart will focus on a pilgrimage to Jordon and the Holy Land in April, 2013. He will share some of his journey with us, and offer insights into the present situation of Christians in the Middle East based on the historical and political context of the Holy Land.
