Church Women United of Stillwater on September 27, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. will celebrate Dedication Day in Highland Park United Methodist Church at 524 N. Stallard.
Salem Lutheran Church is in charge of the program, "Understanding and Recognizing Post Traumatic Stress Disorders." Our guest speaker will be Maureen Sullivan, Ph.D. from the O.S.U. Psychology Department. The goals of Church Women United are to grow in faith and expand our vision of what it means to be women of faith in today's world.
We must develop a viable, ecumenical community. Our top priority is to work for a just, peaceful and caring society. We are called to use responsibly and creatively the resources God has entrusted to us: our intelligence, time, energy and money.
You are not alone. Anyone who has gone through a life-threatening event can develop PTSD. These events can include:
1. "Combat or military exposure.
2. Child sexual or physical assault.
3. Serious accidents, such as a car wreck.
4. Natural disasters, such as fire, tornado, hurricane, flood, or earthquake
." Dedication Day is the day we devote to local concerns. All offerings will be kept locally and distributed among local agencies in December. We invite you to a place where love, hope and healing will be poured out. Jesus said, "You are your brother's keeper."
