Green named Director of Operations for ODOT

Paul D. Green of Stillwater was recently named Director of Operations for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. Green most recently served as Division Engineer for ODOT's Perry-based Division 4, which encompasses nine counties in north-central Oklahoma and includes most of the Oklahoma City metro area.

Green joined ODOT in 1983 as a Highway Construction Inspection Technician in Tulsa.

He worked as a Transportation Specialist and Engineer Intern and in 2002, was promoted to Resident Engineer in Tulsa. In 2003, Green became Assistant Division Engineer for Construction for the eleven-county Division 8 area, headquartered in Tulsa. In 2010, he was named Division Engineer in charge of all maintenance and construction activities in Division 4, which encompasses Canadian, Oklahoma, Garfield, Grant, Kay, Kingfisher, Logan, Noble and Payne counties.

As Division 4 Engineer, Green oversaw the final phases of interstate construction and grand opening of the new I-40 Crosstown in downtown Oklahoma City. His other notable accomplishments at ODOT include serving on the team that helped reconstruct the I-40 bridge at Webbers Falls after it was hit by a barge and also being part of the award-winning team that reconstructed SH-20 Keetonville Hill in Rogers County after it was damaged in a land slide. He also served as project engineer for Sailboat Bridge over Grand Lake on US-59, which won multiple national engineering awards.

Green was born in Wellington, Kan., and graduated from Owasso High School in Owasso, Okla. He earned a degree in civil engineering from Oklahoma State University in 1996. Green and his wife, Amy, live in Stillwater and have three children: Jacob, Samuel and Maggie
