Leadership Stillwater Class XXII Announced

The Stillwater Chamber of Commerce has announced the names of 28 people who have been accepted into Class XXII of Leadership Stillwater.

Created in 1984, Leadership Stillwater has had more than 540 graduates, who have been encouraged to apply what they've learned in the program to become more involved in the community and accept civic responsibilities.

"We want to identify emerging leaders in the community and prepare them to take on leadership roles," said Lisa Navrkal, President and CEO of the Chamber.

"We do this by providing an understanding of the community, while developing communication and problem solving skills."

Program presenters include civic leaders, government officials, educators and experts from a variety of fields and industries, with a curriculum that was created by the past year's graduating class.

Those accepted into the class will select internships at local non-profit organizations and attend courses beginning in August, with graduation taking place at the Chamber's Business@Lunch event on Friday, Dec. 13.
