By Pastor Kip Heatley
There is always some kind of mission activity going on at FUMC Perkins. This Sunday the United Methodist Women began a drive to support the Wings of Hope Family Crisis Services in Stillwater. This organization helps families in crisis, especially in the area of domestic violence. Indeed, Wings of Hope often houses victims of domestic violence and helps them get started in new living arrangements. The UMW are looking for donations of items to help Wings of Hope carry on their vital work, which are basically necessities of everyday living: boxes of Kleenex, dishwater gel packs, laundry soap (high efficiency "he" only), dryer sheets, bleach, paper towels, toilet tissue, disinfectant spray, plastic laundry baskets, allergy meds, 14 and 33 gallon trash bags, gallon and quart food storage bags and $5 and $10 Wal-Mart gift cards. If you would like to help the UMW help Wings of Hope, you may drop by the church and leave your donation in the box in front of the Wings of Hope display in the church foyer.
Also, don't forget that Tuesday April 15 is the next Neighborhood Ministries Food Bank at FUMC. At 6:00 the doors will open and you'll be able to come in and get big bags full of canned goods, meat, household items, and all the Panera Bread items you care to take with you.
And if your spirit needs refreshing, we can help with that as well. Every Sunday morning we meet together to have our own spirits refreshed, and we invite you to join us. Our weekly worship service begins at 10:55, and we think you'll find something there to meet your deepest needs. Whatever your past, whatever your present, nothing makes the future look better than celebrating life in Christ, and that is what we do on Sunday mornings. Why not come and be a part of our weekly celebration and re-charge, re-fresh, and re-vitalize your life along with us? There's always plenty of room at FUMC Perkins!
