Eden Chapel United Methodist Church

Welcome to Eden Chapel United Methodist Church a very unique experience in worship. We do Sundays a little different at Eden Chapel and we believe you will enjoy it as much as we do. We begin every Sunday morning with a very personal Communion Experience in our Prayer Chapel. Then we prepare for our Sunday Morning Worship which leads us into our Gathering Time; after that we are off to Sunday School to share our lives and experiences with each other. We have children, youth, adult and inter-generational groups, so we just know that we have one for you. Our Sundays are as follows: Sunday 9:00am Weekly Communion in the Prayer Chapel, Sunday 9:30am Worship in the Sanctuary, Sunday 10:30am Gathering in the Fellowship Hall, Sunday 11:00am Sunday School and Special Bible Study Classes, Sunday 6:00pm Gospel According to John - Bible Study - all are invited, Wednesday 6:00pm Choir Gathering - come join us and sing for fun, Wednesday 6:00pm Youth - come join us.

This is the 3rd Sunday of Easter and Communion Sunday at Eden Chapel. Pastor John will be preaching from the New Testament Book of Revelation 5: 11-14 and his sermon title is: "Worthy is the Lamb." Life has value only when it has something valuableas its object! Easter is over and boy I am glad we don't have to experience Christ being crucified for another year! Don't believe it! Look around; in your home; in your work; and in your country, I believe we crucify Christ every day. Let me tell you a story. One morning little Johnny announced to his mother; "Where do you think I went last night?" She asked; "Well, where did you go?" Little Johnny answered; "Heaven, I went to Heaven!" "And what did you do there?" his mother asked. "I took the nails out of the hands and feet of Jesus, so he won't suffer any more pain." Sometimes the greatest lessons are taught by children. When we are children and our hearts are loving, we hate to think of the sufferings of Jesus. But as we grow older, we crucify Christ again and again by our willfulness, our pride, and our unkindness. And when we crucify him, we hurt our spirits, and even the best and noblest part of ourselves. Sometimes it is just our indifference and neglect to a situation that crucifies him. What a great thought, that by our love, our devotion, and our service to other, we like the little Johnny, can draw the nails out of Christ's hands and feet, so he won't suffer any more pain. In every place that we go and in everything that we do we should keep fresh in our minds, the Crucified Christ. Why, because it will give us something valuable to focus our lives upon, it is what our faith should be fulfilled in and based on!

Please remember you are always welcome to come and experience a very unique way of learning more about God and church family. Again weekly Communion is at 9am; Worship Service starts at 9:30am; Gathering Time is 10:30am with classes at 11:00am. Eden Chapel United Methodist Church is located at the corner of 92nd Street and S. Fairgrounds Road. We are the little church under the Big Sign. Come see us, we think you will find a home with us!
