As you browse through this book, and are reminded of your life experiences, think of the years-aong, "As Time Goes By, "You must remember this..."
Sy Miller and Jill Jackson were a song-writing team. In 1955 they wrote a song about their dream of peace for the world and how they believed each person could help create that.
One summer evening, high on a California mountain top, a group of 180 teenagers locked arms and sang the Jackson-Miller song.
"Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me. Let there be peace on earth, The peace that was meant to be. With God as our Father, Brothers all are we. Let me walk with my brother, In perfect harmony."
"Let peace begin with me, Let this be the moment now. With every step I take, Let this be my solemn vow, To take each moment, And live each moment, with peace eternally. Let there be peace on earth, And let it begin with me."
The song was sung in many languages around around the world. But, that isn't true in today's America, even during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
If there isn't Peace within and in the environment in the worlds of Humans, Animals, and Insects all else is moot. Then, Humans may of all ages and endeavors may begin to have suicidal thoughts: an escape to a better world.
"God Bless America," "America The Beautiful," and other Patriotic songs are sung at all kinds of public gatherings.
But the Poignant and Happy songs and the singers with beautiful voices and the listening audiences will not be Blessed OR Happy if there is not Peace within themselves and their environments.
Then, Why Oh Why, isn't this Melody one of America's Public Gathering Songs?
