Grandparents Day was celebrated at P-T Intermediate Dchool on Sept. 6. It was the largest turnout yet and Aislinn McCubbins' grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Benjamin (pictured above), traveled from Arizona to share the day with their granddaughter. Mrs. Rudd, the music teacher, coordinated the program and every student participated by singing the national Grandparents Day song. Third graders led the flag salute in sign language, as well as singing "You." Fourth graders sang "Grandma's Feather Bed."
The fifth graders shared some personal stories of memories with grandparents and their own words written to the tune of "This Land is Your Land." PIE (Parents in Education) provided cookies and juice to everyone in attendance and special awards were presented to grandparents who came the greatest distance, had the most grandchildren in school, and to the student who had the most grandparents in attendance.
